Anne Jacqueline Hathaway is an American born actress and singer who is best known for her roles in the Princess Diaries (2001) and Les Misérables (2012). She was born in Brooklyn New York to her father Gerald who is a lawyer and her mother Kate who is an actress. At the young age of 6, she watched her mother Kate perform as Fantine in Les Misérables which inspired her to become an actress just like her mother. She would later go on to win the Golden Globe Award and the Oscar Academy Award for the best supporting character for the same role as her mother. Anne Hathaway made her acting debut in the brief television drama series Get Real (1999) before starring in the role Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries (2011) which catapulted her into the mainstream. She won the Teen Choice Award for her role in The Princess Diaries (2011). She would later go on to win a string of awards for her leading role in the drama series Rachel Getting Married (2008) before she played Fantine in Les Misérables which she is most well known for.
