Cory Monteith was a renowned Canadian actor and musician, best known for his outstanding performance in the TV series, Glee. As an actor who was based in British Columbia, Monteith assumed minor roles on other TV series before being cast on Glee. After his eventual success on the show, Monteith began appearing on a number of television series and films including Monte Carlo and Brothers and Sisters. From the age of 13, Monteith had a troubled teenagehood involving substance abuse. Due to his substance abuse, Cory Monteith was forced to leave school at the age of 16.
After his family members and friends intervened, Cory Monteith eventually accepted to attend a rehabilitation centre. In a 2011 interview, with Parade Magazine, Cory Monteith discussed his history with substance abuse as a teenager. Despite attending rehabilitation, Cory Monteith eventually met his death after consuming a toxic combination of alcohol and heroin. On July 13 2013, Cory Monteith was discovered dead in his room in Vancouver.
